Happy birthday to Jonathan, who is celebrating in true dive-bar fashion at the Cherry Tavern.

We shot something about STDs last weekend. We're shooting something about aliens this weekend. It's like we're adapting Kilgore Trout novels.

Evidently, we've got some films being screened in this weekend's Red Hook Film Festival, which is nice considering Red Hook is host to the majority of our shoots. The festival is this Saturday and Sunday beginning at 2pm and located at 499 Van Brunt Street, as you can see in the flyer below. We don't know when our stuff is being shown, but if you find yourself in Red Hook this weekend, check it out - it's free.

Tribeca uploaded all the Tropfest films on their website, so you can now view "The Switch" here. We also filmed a short Tropfest recap video, which can be viewed here or below.
Untucked is staying busy with continued projects and such in hopes of a winter screening. As for today, perhaps we'll see you at Randall's Island.

Tribeca TropFest 2007 has come and gone, and we're pleased to announce that "The Switch" placed 3rd overall. It was an excellent screening, an amazing turnout (as you can see for yourself in the picture below - a reported 8,000 attended) and a damn good time. We'll be posting the film here on our site soon enough, so stay tuned. Thanks again to everyone involved and to the other 15 finalists, and to any of you that came out that night. And big congratulations specifically to Jonathan, writer and director.

Happy birthday to Chuck. He's a Virgo. According to Wikipedia, Virgos can be very passive and often respond well to gifts, but will not ask or depend on them. Email us for his mailing address.

We would just like to remind everyone about the Tribeca Tropfest screening this Sunday. It's free and open to the public, so come on out to see 16 seven-minute shorts. Steve is on score-update-duty of the Cowboys-Bears game, utilizing his personalized iPhone.

Here's a little behind-the-scenes video we made of our weekend with the Eames Era back in June. You can also view a non-YouTube version here. Oh, and Ted from the band did one too, recapping their entire summer tour.

Untucked has landed a short in the Tropfest @ Tribeca, and we've got the laurels jpeg to prove it. "The Switch", written and directed by Jonathan, will be one of 16 shorts screened on September 23rd at the World Financial Center in downtown Manhattan. We can't post it here until then, but you can read more about it here. Whether we win or lose, at least we got Robert DeNiro's Fedex number.
August 28, 2007
We've completed a short titled "Loose Tea" that was shot on Memorial Day at our friend's East Village tea shop, Sympathy for the Kettle. We used six new actors who were awesome. Check it out in our shorts section.

The First Annual Bushwick Film Festival is this weekend. The folks over there are super nice and having an entire "Untucked Presents" portion, featuring most all of our shorts. Our time slot is this Friday, Aug 24, at 8pm followed by a short Q&A. Location: 195 Morgan Ave. If you're in Brooklyn this Friday, come say hi and ask us what you've always wanted to ask: Who's the dreamy guy in all your films? (The answer is Chuck).

Remember that Eames Era video we said would be coming really soon? Well, "really soon" isn't supposed to imply 2 months later, but we feel confident that the video is better for the time spent making it. With that said, we're very happy to present our second of three Eames Era music videos, this one for the song titled "When You Were a Millionaire." Check it out under our music video page. (Lou Reed makes a special guest appearance). And be sure to also check out their new album, "Heroes + Sheroes." All four of us agree that it's the most solid album we've purchased in the last 12 months.

Untucked is making its BIG screen debut this weekend. Think real big. Some of our work will be shown on the big screens at the Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore this weekend as part of a film series being shown between bands. We’re not entirely sure what of ours will be screened… we think it’s the two Eames Era videos for “Watson” and “Millionaire”
(coming soon!), as well as the “Arcade Fire Short” possibly. Regardless, some of our favorites such as Spoon, TVOTR and Modest Mouse along with 60,000 fans will be subjected to our filmmaking, and to be honest, that’s kinda cool to us. What’s not cool is the festival being headlined by The Police (taking terrible reunion tours to a whole new level). That’s not Untucked’s official position just mine: keeper of the dotcom. But don’t simply take my word for their suck, just ask the drummer. With that said, if you happen to be there this weekend, let us know what our logo looks like blown up billboard-sized.June 17, 2007
The Eames Era and Untucked collectively had a weekend of epic proportions that left two great shows, two lively video shoots and one trashed apartment in its wake. For one of the videos, we cast about 15 kids who were super cute and cooperative, and we can't thank them and their parents enough. For the other video, we asked the band to pull out their thespian skills, and sure enough, they gave us a VMA-worthy performance. We hope to turn one of these videos around in edit really soon, so keep your looking balls locked and loaded.

One more reminder about the Eames Era shows in NYC this weekend: Friday night at Union Hall and Saturday night at Pianos. Guaranteed good times.
June 11, 2007
On Saturday the 16th, we are throwing a kids birthday party and filming it for an Eames Era music video. There will be a clown, a Lou Reed birthday cake and one of the best bands in indie pop. The shoot will last a couple of afternoon hours. Kids need to be age 4 to 12 and near NYC. You will also get a dvd of the video once completed, and your involvement would be much appreciated by us and the band. If you'd like to bring your child, please email Jonathan directly at jonemmerling@hotmail.com for details. Thanks!

A few months ago, we met a man named Tom Gilroy on the F-train. Last night, his latest script, "Location," was a featured as part of the Sundance Institute at BAM (in Brooklyn). It was a very cool evening and equally cool script, so keep an eye out for that sometime in the future and get to BAM as often as possible for other interesting films, performances and events.

Untucked spent their Memorial Day at the coolest East Village tea house, doing what we do - shooting. This particular short's title is still up for debate, and we probably won't have a finished product to show you anytime before the fall. So you'll just have to trust us when we say it went well. It was especially exciting to work with a new batch of great actors.
On the Untucked horizon: a script meeting on Thursday, an Eames Era music video in June, and numerous shorts to complete this summer.

One great band. Two great venues. Untucked is inviting all of you to come out and see our friends, the Eames Era, play all their hits on two amazing New York summer nights.
Friday, June 15th @ Union Hall, Brooklyn, NY
Saturday, June 16th @ Pianos, New York, NY
Check out the Untucked video below (starring Reg) or click here for more of the same details.

Untucked and BrooklynVegan team up to bring you Patrick Wolf, live from New York's Union Square Virgin Record Store. You can view the entire show here, or you can see our clip on Youtube featuring the song "The Libertine."
May 01, 2007
BrooklynVegan invited Untucked to shoot a performance by an Englishman named Patrick Wolf last night at the Union Square Virgin Record Store. We didn't know much about him or his music beforehand, but we're glad we do now. It was a great show, and we captured some great footage. And we're going to put it up on the internet real soon... for you, for BrooklynVegan and for Patrick's dad (happy birthday).
April 08, 2007
We met up yesterday to commence shooting "Revelations." It is as dark as it sounds. After a few hours of shooting at Jonathan's apartment and another hour of horseplaying at the Cobble Hill children's playground, we settled in to Pioneer Bar for burgers, beers, fries, and our two new favorites - the mac n' cheese and the pulled pork sandwich. If you haven't been, well, you should rectify that as soon as possible. (--Ed. note: Pioneer Bar seems closed these days. Confusion? Yes. Panic? Possibly).
Untucked is in the midst of multiple scripts and ideas in which we will be looking to cast soon. We'll let you know more about that later. We are also looking for some various locations to shoot in, and if you could help with that, we'd be grateful. We're looking for a cafe or coffee shop, a fancy restaurant, a gymnasium and a science/lab/institution type facility. So if you know of something, drop us an email. Thanks.

The website's been quiet, but Untucked's been busy. And so we return with those two Hold Steady videos we mentioned earlier, plus a complete DIY video by Jonathan that captures the need for more roadtrips. All three videos are part of a competition put on by the band and Fuse TV and can be viewed here and here. Winners will be announced in a month or so.
March 10, 2007
Untucked is back in the edit suite today to work on two Hold Steady videos. We're going in with a vague recollection of those five hours of filming, 24 various clay models, a busted turntable, an impromptu bartending gig and a plentitude of red wine, white russians and tequila shots. Needless to say, we're not exactly sure what we're going to get in edit. We're hoping for miracles.

YouTubers are really checking out the Arcade Fire Short. It is also mentioned at Entertainment Weekly, Blender and Paper. Evidently people like our work, or at least most of you...

"That was awful. It was like a rejected mad tv sketch done by self righteous indie kids. Blech... Go away forever."March 06, 2007
We've completed the Arcade Fire Short. It was also featured on the wonderful BrooklynVegan and PreFixMag today. See links for good times. Many thanks to the Arcade Fire for their presumed support.

Tomorrow’s Untucked shoot is clay-themed. Enough with actors and their neurotic demands. And no band? No problem. “Stuck Between Stations” takes on a life of its own with Craig Finn & Co. manning the turntable. It should be an adventure. Look for this music video real soon.
February 21, 2007
We had a script meeting last week where we each presented what we want to shoot next. We already shot one of them in sub-zero temperatures outside the Arcade Fire performances at Judson Church here in New York City. Even Kirsten Dunst made fun of us. But it was worth it. We will be editing soon, so look for that in a few weeks.

Happy Birthday to Lewis. He turns the ripe age of 27.

Untucked Films made their debut on the intertubes. Check back for updates. We're looking forward to some great stuff in '07.
